The latest Mini Countryman is proving very popular on both our Flexible Car Subscription Service and our fixed short-term car leases, not only do they look fantastic, but they are comfortable, spacious and full of gadgetry, we’ve got quite a few different models available but one of the most asked questions we get recently is what is included with the “Level 1” pack and is it worth paying the extra.
So today we’re going to have a quick look at the Level 1 pack on the Mini Countryman to see if you should upgrade.
Whats included in the Level 1 Pack?
At the time of publishing, the Level 1 pack is a £2,800 optional extra, we’ve got the Mini Countryman with and without this pack, so is it worth the extra money, this is whats included:
Adaptive LED Headlights
Adaptive LED Headlights are a real game changer when it comes to night driving, if you jump into a car without you really do miss them. Iffering Bi-LED technology for low and high beam, the LED headlights adapt for the surrounding area. On a clear motorway it pumps out the power, oncoming traffic, it changes the beam so as not to blind the vehicles coming the other way.
Comfort Access
Comfort Access is BMW/Mini's way of saying that the vehicle has keyless entry. With the key fob in your pocket or bag, just approach the car and grab the handle and the car unlocks. To lock just press the button on the handle. It also works really well with the automatic tailgate, just pop your foot under the rear bumper and the tailgate will open for true handsfree access. You can also set-up proximity open/close and where applicable, a Digitial Key (which isn't available on our vehicles)
Driving Assistant Plus Preparation
Note the preparation within this title. This means that the car has the required equipment installed so that you can upgrade (via the Mini App) - This allows you Adaptive Cruise Control, Stop and Go function (ideal for traffic) and speed limiting functions.
Folding Wing Mirrors with Auto-Dimming
Nice and simple explanation for this one, on the dashboard you can set the mirrors to automatically fold when you park and lock the car. Great for avoiding any prangs in a car park. The dimming feature uses sensors to dim the mirrors if it senses bright lights. These are also heated.
Heated Front Seats
Why anybody would want to opt for a car with heated front seats, we'll never know. Head to the Control Display and you can also change where the heat goes to, want a bit more warmth on your back, not an issue, prefer a hot bottom, hit the right button.
High Beam Assistant
This system works alongside the Adaptive LED headlights to automatically turn your high beam on when it's dark. It turns off when there is enough light on the road or when there is oncoming traffic. It uses a tiny sensor located in the interior mirror to monitor the road.
Luggage Net
How much text can we write about a luggage net! This provides a safety net between the boot and the passenger area and clips on to the hooks in the boot.
MINI Head-up Display
Pretend your a fighter pilot with this pop-up screen that puts all the important stuff in your line of sight. Offers key data such as the speed, maps, driver assistance information and even what Ed Sheeran song you're playing. It can be easily adjusted and changes depending on which experience mode you have selected.
Rear-View Mirror with Auto Dimming
It's a real pain when you're driving at night and someone has there full beam on behind you. Not with this Anti-dazzle mirror. Using technology called electrochome, the mirror dims itself to stop you being blinded. Simple and effective.
Sliding Rear Seats
This is a genius idea. Travelling with adults in the rear? Slide the seats towards the rear of the vehicle to give them more leg room, reducing the cargo area. Need more boot space for that retail therapy outing? Not an issue, slide the seats towards the front to increase the space.
Storage for Wireless Charging
Located in the front area of the centre console, this Qi 1.2-compatible smartphone charger can keep your iPhone or Android phone topped up, delivering up to 15W of power. It features and active cooling system to prevet your device from over heating, very useful if you're using Apple CarPlay.
What is extra in the Level 2 pack?
Whilst we don’t currently offer any of the vehicles with the Level 2 packs, for those who have googled about the packs, we thought we’d throw in a few bonus paragraphs for you:
Harman/Kardon Surround Sound Audio System
Upgrade your audio experience with this amazing Harman Kardon surround sound system. Featuring a 365 watt output, with 7-band equalizer and no less than 12 high-performance speakers. It creates pumps for the bass, beautiful notes for the vocals and boy, the depth of the sound is unreal.
Panoramic Glass Sunroof
With Air Conditioning or Climate Control coming as standard on most cars these days, the requests for a sunroof is still as high as ever. The glass roof lets the beautiful light enter the vehicle, making the space feel much bigger. Use the sunblind to cover the glass if it's no longer wanted. You can open and close the sinroof by pressing the buttons, with a full slide or a gentle tilt, you will want to opt for this if you're purchasing a Mini Countryman
Sun Protection Glass
aka Privacy Glass. The Sun Protection Glass tints the rear side and rear window in the car, helping to keep the vehicle cool on those warmer days but also offering a bit of privacy for those little ones in the back or the adults who prefer travelling in the rear seats.
What is extra in the Level 3 pack?
And finally the Level 3 pack on the Mini Countryman, comes in at a whopping £7,500 as an extra. Lets take a look what is extra:
Active Seat for Driver
4-way lumbar support and massage function, what more can you ask for as a driver. You won't want to leave the seat. Enjoy outstanding comfort from one of the best medium sized cars in the marketplace.
Electric Memory Seats
If you've got one or more people using your vehicle, driver memory seats are a godsend. Both the driver and passenger seats can be set and configured, and importantly, saved to a button. When a different driver enters, hit the right button and the seat will automatically adjust.
Interior Camera
Using the remote function on the MINI app, you can see snapshots and real-time monitoring of the interior with this camera. Super handy to have!
MINI Navigation AR
Super simple guidance from this amazing Satellite Navigation System with Augmented View to show exactly which road to take off at a roundabout or which lane to be in. Using directional arrows placed over a live camera feed from the vehicle. Amazing to have.
Parking Assistant Plus
This function gives you a 360 degree view of whats around your vehicle, merging multiple camera views to help you navigate and park easily. Drive Recorder is like having your own personal dashcam, see an incident and hit the parking sensors button and the system will autmatically save the footage to the cars system, ready for exporting to a USB stick.
Do we offer the best car subscriptions for the Mini Countryman?
We’d like to think we do, offering flexible car subscriptions and leasing from 1-month, unlock further savings by taking the vehicle for 90 days or more. One rental per month that includes the maintenance & servicing, generous mileage allowance, breakdown assistance, manufacturers warranty and road tax.
