The History of Mercedes-Benz

Mercedes-Benz is a German vehicle manufacturer which is a division of Daimler AG, the brand Mercedes-Benz is used for luxury automobiles.

The Mercedes-Benz name first appeared in 1926 under Daimler-Benz but can be traxed back to a 1901 Mercedes and Karl Benz’s 1886 Benz Patent Motorwagen. The latter is regarded as the first automobile. Mercedes-Benz is part of the German Big 3 luxury car makers, alongside BMW and Audi.

Mercedes-Benz history can be traced back to Karl Benz’s creation of the first petrol powered car, it was originally financed by Bertha Benz and patented in January 1886. Gottlieb Daimler and engineer Wilhelm Maybach, converted a stagecoach and added a petrol engine later that year. The first Mercedes-Benz brand name vehicle wasn’t produced until 1926.
