VE103B Taking Your Lease Vehicle Abroad

As with all of our short-term vehicle contracts, the issuing of a VE103B to take your vehicle abroad is on a case-by-case basis and our customers must complete the relevant forms before going abroad.

However, since the Covid-19 outbreaks and the changes in law due to Brexit, it is now much more difficult to take a lease car abroad so we wanted to reiterate our process, here at Cocoon Vehicles.

The Process

If you are looking at taking your Lease Car Abroad, we would ask that you complete a VE103B Certificate Request Form. This can be found in our account section of the website.

This must be done at least 14 days before you head overseas, in order for us to apply for the certificate and get the relevant information to get you permission.

We will also require a letter from your insurance company stating that they will insure you on a Fully Comprehensive level, whilst your vehicle is abroad. A green card will only show that the vehicle is covered third party.

We will also ask that you obtain European Breakdown cover and highly recommend a service that will also bring the car back to the UK where required.

Get the VE103B before boarding the Ferry or Eurotunnel

It is really important that all of the above has been completed and accepted by Cocoon Vehicles, with the VE103B issued via post and with you. If you don’t you will be taking the vehicle abroad without permission and is a breach of the terms and conditions of the contract.

Emergency VE103B

Many of our vehicle suppliers will now no longer issue an emergency VE103B, therefore, if you have taken your vehicle abroad, it must be returned back to the UK immediately and the correct paperwork applied for.
