The dream car of many a petrol head, the Bugatti is regarded as a supercar, perfect in every way. But what happens when someone has a vision that the perfect can be made, well, more perfect?!
The answer is the new Bugatti Chiron. Unveiled at the Geneva Motorshow earlier this year, Volkswagen, the owners of Bugatti, decided that they wanted to launch an ever more ‘super’ car and so the Chiron was born.
This stunningly beautiful piece of modern engineering is now the world’s fastest production car and was named after Louis Chiron, the racing driver.
The Chiron’s stats are fantastically impressive;
1,500 horsepower and a top speed of 261mph, it is 3mph faster than the Veyron however, the Chiron has a speed limiter. If this limiter was removed Bugatti states that the top speed would reach an eye-watering 285-287mph!
The Chiron has recorded 0-62 in less than 2.5 seconds although there are no official figures yet.
The Chiron is also lighter, wider and longer but only by millimetres and has been designed to maximise performance. The engine is lighter than the Veyron but it is much more powerful, by a whopping 300bhp!
