MINI

Mini is a British vehicle manufacturer, currently owned by BMW but originated from British Motor Corporation in 1959. The original vehicle went through many owners including British Leyland and Rover Group, the Marque was then sold along with Rover to BMW. BMW disposed of the loss making sectors of the Rover Group but kept the Mini name and planned to launch a new model.

The new company BMW Mini is not related to the old car whatsoever but retains the look and feel of the original Mini model. The new generation of the Mini was launched in 2001, origianlly as a Hatchback but since as a Convertible, a Clubman Estate, Countryman 5 door crossover vehicle and a Paceman a 3 door crossover.

Mini also launched a Coupe and a Roadster, with the Coupe’s roof resembling a kids baseball cap, backwards. But due to the unpopularity of this model it was withdrawn.

The majority of BMW Mini’s are manufactured at their plant in Oxford, although models such as the Countryman are manufactured in Austria.
