Looking for a family-sized car with plenty of room, full of style and drives really well? Look no further than the new VW Tiguan!
The reviews have been fantastic about the 2016 specification and it’s not hard to see why.
This medium SUV comes with 5 doors and 5 seats, plenty of room for the family, the golf clubs or if you just like space, you’ll find it hard not to love this revamped VW model.
The stylish exterior means you’ll stand out from the crowd and the interior is just as special. Take the dynamic roofline for instance; the optional panoramic glass sunroof fills the interior with light creating the illusion of a much bigger space whilst the new longer wheelbase (an extra 77mm) creates more legroom for rear-seat passengers. The back seats can also slide on runners by up to 170mm to release even more rear legroom or boot space. If boot space is your priority, you can drop the rear seats to revel in 1655 litres of square shaped load bay space!
So what about the drive? The Tiguan has a selection of all-turbocharged engines, the petrol option provides 180bhp from its 2-litre engine or if you prefer a diesel car you’ll be provided with 148bhp from its 2-litres. There’s also the choice of 2 or 4-wheel drive. Whichever you choose you’re in for a comfortable ride with the Tiguan, the light steering makes the drive around town a doddle yet it’s easy to manoeuvre and grips confidently to the open road.
If you’re after the seven-speed dual clutch gearbox then you’ll have to opt for the four-wheel drive option however, if it’s fuel economy you’re after then the six-speed manual with the 2-wheel drive will be the choice for you.
There’ no doubting that you’ll be spoilt with the VW Tiguan, it certainly rivals the BMW X3 and the Volvo XC60.
