On the Road: A Day Driving the Jaecoo 7
We had the opportunity to drive the Jaecoo 7 at an event held at the British Motor Museum in Gaydon, which also sits close to the Land Rover research and development facilities.
Leaving Gaydon, we headed past the Land Rover R&D centre before joining the M40 southbound towards the Cotswolds.
The motorway run immediately highlighted the car’s composure. The cabin remained quiet, the ride smooth and the plug-in hybrid drivetrain delivered power seamlessly.
From there we headed into the Cotswolds countryside, making our way through scenic roads toward Bourton-on-the-Water and eventually stopping at Hawkstone Brewery.
These narrower rural roads offered a good opportunity to assess the car’s handling.
The Jaecoo 7 felt well balanced and comfortable. Steering was predictable and the suspension absorbed uneven surfaces well, which is important for UK country roads.
On the return journey we pushed it a little harder along winding routes before rejoining the M40 back to Gaydon.
Overall, the driving experience felt composed and relaxed — exactly what most drivers want from a family SUV.
