We’re huge fans of Apple CarPlay in the Cocoon Vehicles office and we also know that many of our customers also love the extension to their Apple iPhone, with many using sat nav features from Apple Maps and Google Maps over the in-built systems.
This week in San Jose, Apple is holding their Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) within part of their coding sessions they habe shared a few images of what Apple CarPlay will look like in the next generation.
Next Generation Apple CarPlay
The next generation of Apple CarPlay will allow more customisation and integration within the vehicles, this will include controlling items such as the vehicle and even climate control functions.
Automakers will be able to tailor the design of CarPlay to match their vehicles and branding.

Other images provided by Apple show a closer look at the vehicle and the climate control apps.


Custom alerts will also be available to the vehicle manufacturers to show items relating to the charge, software updates or even access to the reversing camera. Images follow:



As it stands today, there are no release dates for this next-genration CarPlay but Apple’s website does say that the first cars will arrive in 2024. Aston Martin and Porchase have previewed what Apple CarPlay will look like in future models already.
