Huge growth in Short Term Leasing Vehicles
September 8, 2010If most people think about Car and Van leases or contract hire, they think that they are going to get tied into the one vehicle for 2, 3 or even 4 years. But there is a little know product called Short Term Contract Hire that is growing month by month, and Cocoon Vehicles in Derby are one of the main suppliers.
The majority of car leases or contract hire products offered by dealerships and brokers are based around the traditional 3 payments up front followed by 35 months, and some offers are even based on 6 payments up front. The downside to these is that if you want to end the agreement early, the finance company slaps you with a huge termination bill.
Not only that but the finance companies can insist on businesses that have been established for 3 years or more, with positive accounts to back it up. Or they could ask the Directors to Guarantee the finance over the term, in case the company ever went into receivership.
This is where Short Term Contract Hire and Leasing comes into its own, treat the agreement as a mobile phone contract. You take the initial vehicle for a minimum term of 3 months, after which you can change your vehicle with something else.
